Cross Stitch, Gardening, and a Give Away!

Thanks so much to all of you who expressed support for our Seahawks!  Things have settled down just a bit for a short time.  I have put my mind back on "normal" things.  First, I'll explain yesterday's problem.  The nasty posts were not on my comments.  Somehow this blog was in my list of blogs that posted recently on my dashboard.   We looked at my list of blogs that I follow and it was not there.  I have no idea how it got on that list.  For the time being I am just skipping all the posts.  Hopefully ignoring them will make them go away.  We did try to report it to Google but that didn't work.  Now on to much better things.  I am almost finished with "Hearts and Flowers" by Carriage House Samplings. It is an older chart so I have decided to give it away when I am finished ( 2 or 3 days).  If you would like this chart, just let me know in the comments on this post.  I'm also showing you a few pretty pictures from my yard walk today.

The linen is Lakeside Linen Sand Dune, much prettier than the drab looking linen in this photo.

Here is my crazy daffodil that thinks it is Spring!

It's relatives have the good sense to stay in the ground!

I love Witch Hazel trees this time of year!  They are covered with pretty blooms. We need to go over to the UW Arboretum.  They have many different varieties and colors.

These flowers have a nice smell.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and thanks so much for joining me!

  2. What a sweet chart. I'd love to have a chance for the give away.
The witch hazel is really pretty. I never imagined it looked like that; I guess I always thought it would be medicinal or something.

  7. Wow, that witch hazel is like nothing I have ever seen. Very pretty.

Sorry that your blog is obviously the target of someone with nothing better to do with their time. Maybe they should take up cross stitch.

I would love to be entered in the drawing for the chart please. I do love CHS, and that is one of their charts I don't have. Thanks.

  12. Sorry but I cant help you with the dashboard problem. I have had it where someone has hijacked someone else's blog and posted about politics but never dirty stuff.

  14. Great stitching , and lovely flower pics.
I once had some weird posts appear and it was from an old unused blog that someone had taken over. It took a long time of searching through all the blogs I follow , but I eventually found it and stopped following . Scroll down all the blogs in your dashboard and click on each one, you may find it. If you do , click on the cog thing at the top of your dashboard (manage blogs) and you can stop following a blog from their without having to go onto the actual blog. Hope this makes sense .

  16. A nice pattern for valentines into spring. Sweet. Oh the witch hazel is cool. I have never seen that before. I wonder if it would do well in Maine. We won't see the first daffy-dills until May. :(

  19. I would love a chance at 'hearts and flowers'. I have never seen this design before and love it. Your flowers are definately crazy - it is 1 degree in temp where I am at right now. I can't wait until spring though!

  20. Sorry to hear about that posting problem. There are some really weird people out there and I never manage to understand their motivation.

It's nearly finished your heart. And it looks great. Please, don't include me in your draw, I still have this chart in my stash.

It's similar in our garden as we have had spring-like temperatures for the last 5 weeks or so and rarely any frosty nights. So our hydrangea and one of the rose bushes are budding and we are sure that they will freeze when winter temperatures will be here.

Thanks for sharing your garden photos. Now you need to find a small Seahawks garden flag or Seahawks gnome to sit among the flowers!

  25. I've read and enjoyed your blog for a long time but just became a follower. So many of your pictures remind me of our trip to Seattle a few years ago. Would love to try for this pattern- thanks for the chance!. I am working on her Suzannah pattern at this time. P.S. Rooting for Seahawks on the east coast because I love their uniforms!

  31. I never knew there was such a thing as a Witch Hazel tree. It's very unique! I wish I could say we have spring flowers popping up, but our ground is frozen solid and covered with lots of snow. No spring in sight here. Your version of Hearts and Flowers is lovely! Please include me in your drawing. Thanks!

  32. I just can't believe you have blooms on things! We just got another 2 inches of snow last night - I am walking past snow bank that are taller than me (I am 5 foot 10 inches). I fear we will never seen grass again. Love your stitching and way to go Seahawks!
