I hope everyone out there in blogland has had a good week. If you are searching for summer, come to Seattle. We are out to break a record of the most days over 80 degrees since they have been keeping weather records!! Well, on to a more cheerful subject!(I don't like hot weather at all!). Ranae at the blog "Stitch by Stitch" and Kaye at the blog "Kitten Stitching" have joined me in stitching the BBD ,"Away We Ride". I'm so happy to have them with me. Anyone else who would like to join is very welcome. We have just started. It's a fun Halloween design that I will be keeping up all year!
I am stitching on 32 count lambswool with the floss that is recommended. I did a happy dance when the outer border met! At this point, I plan to start some of the inside of the design. I'll add the other borders later. The vine design takes quite a bit of time.
I am enjoying this and hope my hand holds out. It is giving me problems. I think I need a new hand to match my new knee!!!!
We had a great day out at the lighthouse so I will put those pictures on tomorrow. More "Away We Go Next Thurs.!
Great job on the cross stitch. I always hold my breath when it's time for the border to match up.
ReplyDeleteLooking great, Barb. Always such a relief when the borders meet! I have ordered my pattern, it should arrive soon.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your SAL! It's great to stitch virtually with others. Too hot isn't it? I think we're having a Midwest Summer here.
ReplyDeleteAwesome progress
ReplyDeleteWelcome Kaye to the SAL
What fun it will be
Take care
Great start.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great Halloween piece.

ReplyDeleteSUPER start :)
ReplyDeleteI love when the ends met! I have this pattern and want to stitch along too. I need to finish up on small that I started last week then I will join you. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how you seem to be having our weather and we are having yours, Barb!! I am so tired of these days that don't get out of the 60s...
ReplyDeleteLovely new start--hooray for the border meet-up :)
You have made a lovely start Barb. I love Hallowe'en designs so I will be on the look out for updates.
ReplyDeleteHave great weekend.
Grstart I love it when my borders meet, a person has to do a happy dance. It is so easy to miss one stitch when doing borders.
ReplyDeleteNice pattern choice.
Blessings
Catherine
Well, it is a bank holiday here in Ireland so of course it is raining lol. Love the new start. It is wonderful to stitch things with others isnt it
ReplyDeleteLove your new BBD start! I'm going to enjoy seeing your progress! The weather in Seattle that weekend in July I visited was amazing. The weather this summer is much warmer than usual. We haven't had a Mark Twain June or July at all...very warm for SF!
ReplyDeleteI am rejoicing with you that the borders met! I do them first, and keep wishing and praying they will work out! Look forward to seeing progress on this one. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more progress on this one Barb !
ReplyDeleteYour 'happy dance' made me smile! No matter how carefully we count there's still that moment when we wonder - will the border sides meet?
ReplyDeleteWonderful progress.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been a wonderful feeling when the borders met. For me it's always a big relief. You made a nice start on this lovely design. And so good that you have found some co-stitchers to do it as a SAL. It's always very motivating.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely start. x
ReplyDeleteNice start! I think most of us feel relieved when the borders meet up right. Usually the more careful I think I have been in counting the more mistakes I make. :) Hope the hand cooperates!
