Catch Up!

Thanks so much to all of you who said such nice things about the antique sampler and its frame.  If I did not respond, I'm sorry.  I expect your comment to show up on my email but many of them did not show up this time.  I have no idea why.  Blogger can be a pain at times!!
I'm still busy with PT.  It is really taking a long time to get this knee back in good working order.  I can walk just fine but definitely slower than the pre-knee .  They( the PT folks) want it to bend  to 120 degrees with ease.  I don't know if it will ever do that.  On the days I don't go to PT I work at home for at least 40 minutes on bending exercises! Well enough of that!!
I finished Betsy and have gone back to Liberty Lane.  My DH helped me to work out an alphabet instead of the words Liberty lane. I'm anxious to see how it will look.
The garden continues to look wonderful so I included a few photos!

I wish the white sheep stood out more, I used the suggested DMC floss except for the reds.  There I used 355 and 356.  This turned out ok but I'm not crazy about it.

I finished the big white house last night.  Two more houses to go.

The Black Lace Elderberry is almost covered with flowers.

The Ghost Weigelea  has pretty colored leaves in the fall.

 I love growing delphinium.

and Calla Lillies!
Thanks for joining me!

  11. I know the recovery from knee surgery takes a long time, Barb... At least you are making progress even if you wish it were faster.

I so love Betsy!! I can see the sheep just fine on my computer--I'm sorry they don't show up better in real life. Looking forward to seeing Liberty Lane with the charted alphabet--how nice that you husband can help out with your hobby :)

  12. Hi Barb! Slowly but surely you are getting stronger I am sure!! Love the stitchings - I especially love the one of the houses. I can't wait to see that one done! Love the garden pictures. Our gardens are coming along slowly but nicely. I can't wait for the first tomato!

  13. Your stitching looks perfect, though we all know how it feels to not be as happy with a finish as we had hoped. Sorry you're feeling that way. Looks great to me!

Your garden is beautiful. I have (ahem) two flowers this year, and one was a gift. Oh, well. My thumbs are brown instead of green, and I don't like being out in the heat, and my allergies won't let me, anyway... Just sayin', haha.

Try to be patient with your knee. I'm sure you'll get there, because you're doing your part along with the therapists. Keep up the good work (and I'm sure it is WORK!).

  14. Betsy is gorgeous - I presume it is Betsy Ross? Who is the designer, may I ask? Liberty Lane is looking good - so interesting to see the different colourways to mine. Good luck with the PT.

  17. I did end up using white on Betsy's sheep, and they still don't show up great... Did you consider outlining/back stitching them? The LL houses are very nice, too. And your flowers are amazing.

  18. You're getting lots of stitching done as you recover from surgery! Be patient with pt, you'll get close to that 120°. :)
Delphinium are so pretty and pair nicely with roses. Your garden is beautiful!

  20. Betsy is looking gorgeous, what a great finish. I particularly love the little red birds, I think there are three of them. So lovely.

You certainly have to do a lot of exercices until your new knee functions as it is supposed to do.But it just takes time. I hope you will soon see more and more progress.
