Mixed up Christmas cactus!!!

What do you do with a Christmas cactus that is finally blooming in May??!! I think the answer is just enjoy it.  As you can see from the photo, it is very pretty. It's a very soft coral.  I've also added a picture of "Penny America".  The flowers on the left side are done.  Tonight I'll add the other things on the left side and then I'll be ready for the penny rug -type border.  I'm trying to get this done because I finally went to a hand DR. yesterday.  He thinks I have"moderate carpel tunnel".  If the test confirms this, I'll be having endoscopic surgery to relieve the nerve.  There will probably be a bit of time for healing and maybe no hand work! I'm not looking forward to that, however, my hand is a pain and I want to get it fixed! So I'll do whatever I have to do.  Waking up at night with a painful tingling hand is no fun! Well, thanks so much to all of you for reading this blog! I do love and read the comments each day!

 There she blooms!!

 The flowers are exquisite!

Left side of basket, done!

A Bit of Everything!

First, I want to thank all of you who wished the SBA better health-that is get rid of his nasty cold! It's not going anywhere fast so that means lots of time to read and stitch.  I did have a lovely afternoon having coffee with my dear daughter.  We were able to sit outside and enjoy the pretty day. I also got out in the yard and took a few more pictures.  Thanks so much to all of you who take time to read my blog.  I do appreciate it very much!! I hope everyone has a great week!

The sunlight was so pretty on the deck.  We have both of our vines planted.  It should look great by mid-summer.

Our Golden Raindrops crab apple is just covered with flowers!

The buds start out pale pink and then are almost white.

My first flower of the year on my hardy geranium," Mavis Simpson."

Isn't this dragon fly amazing?  He just sat on this pretty red shrub and let me take his picture.

My first flower on the Geum .

This clematis is growing like mad.  It will cover this part of the fence.

Justice is finished and last night I got all the stems done for the left side of the basket.  "Penny America" continues to be a fun stitch!

Lucky Me!

I recently won the giveaway over at The Pumpkin Patch blog.  Marjorie sent me a real goody package.  There were two great pieces of linen, my favorite size needles, a wonderful Halloween chart(how could she know I love to stitch Halloween??),and the cutest pillow. Thank you so much Marjorie , for your generosity!!
My poor husband, the SBA(Super blogging assistant) has gotten a terrible cold.  The only good part of this is that we have had a very quiet week-end.  That has meant lots of reading and stitching, two things I really enjoy!!I finished reading The Tory Widow.  I love historical fiction and this is about a period I love, the Revolutionary War. There is a sequel so I can keep the story going! In the stitching realm,  I have finished the designs to the right on Penny America.  This has proven to be a very enjoyable stitch.  You have to change colors often but it's fun.
Yesterday we had a nice walk down memory lane.  We lived in Louisville , KY for 17 years.  Watching the Derby and hearing "My Old Kentucky Home" brought back many happy memories of our time in Louisville.
Well, thanks so much for reading my blog.  Have a wonderful week!!

Here are my goodies from Marjorie.

 What a great little pillow!

I actually finished Justice after I took this photo. Now I'm working on the left side of the basket.
