This little witch is from PS book 140 Pumpkin Patch.
The owl is from the same chart. The fabric was my inspiration for this design.
Quaker Boo! from The Sampler Girl. I have always liked this design.
This design is from Boo Moon by PS. Just to let you know what a finishing slacker I am, this was stitched 2 years ago!
This pretty design is by Nan Lewis of Threadwork Primitives. It is called Pumpkin Watch. Sorry for the very crooked photo!
Here is the inspiration bowl.
You can see this has been a very well used bowl. That's before I got hold of it. I remember my mom chopping cabbage to make coleslaw.
I love seeing the marks left by hand tools.
This is my current project. I am making this for Caleb and family. I will be jazzing it up as it is for a family with children. I have ordered several buttons and plan on using some of the metallic floss. I think it's a great design especially for children.
Thanks so much for joining me and have a great week!
I love the bowl! Lovely stitching. Your weather is aaaaweful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful bunch of smalls! I am pulling out Owl charts to start stitching in October - like you I am ready for fall. I look forward to seeing Trick or Treat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bowl! you can make those ornaments, I know you can. Those are some of my favorite. Is the Sampler Girl still designing? I don't recall hearing or seeing designs anymore from her. Yay for fall
ReplyDeleteAll of your smalls are wonderful...this is something I want to do too. Gotta get my butt in gear. That PS Trick or Treat is wonderful. I hadn't paid attention to it before but you are right... it would be great to personalize for grandchildren. I need to snag me a copy of this one for the future. happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteGlad the weather cooled down for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat choices for the smalls.
Love the Owl fabric, it's sooooo darn cute.
What a gorgeous bowl, a real treasure.
Trick or Treat will be a great piece for Halloween.
Marilyn
This bowl will look sooo good when filled with your Halloween smalls. All these little pieces are so beautiful and as you chose many of the same colours for them they will look very good together.
ReplyDeleteI love your new project. You are right, this chart is great for kids, all these funny Halloween motives. I particularly love the pumpkin headed man.
Lovely finishes!! Looking forward to see your finished finishes in the bowl. I am sure it will look artistic :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely bowl Barb! You'll honor it with your stitching finishes. I think I've stitched that little PS witch before. She's adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove your Halloween stitching!!
ReplyDeleteFull of bright wonders
Oh boy - just seeing these gets my stitching excitement up! :) Now if the new puppy would only just relax a little I can pull out my stitching. I have started sorting my threads, getting my hoop out - its only a matter of time now! Such lovely stitching you have done. I think my favorites are the ones with the dates. Those are just so primitive - lovely!!! We are struggling to get to fall - Sunday saw us with 32 celcius. So hot. I am having a hard time getting into fall mode, even though I am trying really hard to do so. Strange year for weather.
ReplyDeleteLove all your Halloween stitching! Trick or Treat from PS stitches up so cute ! Can't wait to see your additions to it! Love that dough bowl ! I am always on the hunt for one but they are really pricey :)
ReplyDeletePiękne hafty Halloweenowe.
ReplyDeleteWow--what a great bowl! You are going to have fun putting stitched pieces in there! And it will not wear it down, so it will last even longer!! You have a bit of finishing to do my friend... oh well, you WILL do it! I know... Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLove the bowl! I've been scouring second hand stores looking for one like that. Great lineup of stitching, Barb!
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching! Your Halloween smalls will look wonderful in your bowl!! I am looking forward to updates on your current stitch.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous stitching..very nice. We had the wettest coldest summer ever...perhaps we could do a weather exchange next year lol
ReplyDeleteBarb, your Halloween stitching is just beatuiful. Don't you just love the colors this time of year? Thank you for your comment in my blog!!! I so enjoy hearing from you anytime. :)
ReplyDeleteYour bowl will look amazing with all those co-ordinated goodies in! What a great idea. I like that PS Halloween design too.
ReplyDeleteLovely, great stitching!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteCathi
Wonderful Halloween pieces, Barb. I do love the PS Halloween designs and I am sure that you will have great inspiration when it comes to the finishing!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the cooler weather being nice. Us Washingtonians are not used to that kind of heat!! Love your Halloween stitching. Look forward to seeing the larger one when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great bunch of small finishes, Barb!! I hope this fall/Halloween stitching does bring some cooler weather your way... We have had a very warm September, but I'm not complaining--I know the wintry ice is just around the corner...
ReplyDeleteThat bowl is fabulous--you'll have a great time filling it up each season with leaves or greens and cute small finishes :)
Morning Barb...well I have to totally agree with you about the weather...it was a hot summer here and I am not a summer girl...love my Fall and Winter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful family heirloom with that bowl - wehave reproductions and you are there with the real deal! Great!!! Going to look so sweet with all those wonderfully stitched smalls.
I too do not like to 'finish'. I have punch needle and hooked pieces just sitting here waiting - and it has been a couple of years as well.
Thanks for sharing with us
Blessings
Karen
I'm working on a small Halloween piece too - trying to get in the mood. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteThe bowl will be great for displays of small finishes! I like the design you are working on. Hope you get Fall temps, as I am sure you are sick of the heat you have had this year.
