Return to the Relm of the Living!

Hi there cloud friends!  I am so happy that I  finally have the energy to blog.  I could write blogs from now till Christmas about this ordeal and back surgery but I have decided to just get on with life.  I will say that I will be in lots of PT, etc. probably for most of the winter but at least the worst is over! I actually did finish the Halloween project for my grandson and another small piece. We had ordered the frame early so they got the PS design in time for Halloween. If you have read my blog, you know that finishing is not my strong suit.  So now I have quite the pile of Halloween/Fall pieces to finish.  I guess that breaking my back does give me a good excuse for not getting my finishing done.  I have now turned to Christmas stitching and will show some of that in my next post.  Thanks again for all the well wishes and prayers.  It all meant so much to me!

I thought this was a great design for a family with children! Plus it was mainly for Caleb who is 10 years old. All the orange was stitched with metallic floss.  I found that a big pain but the effect was worth the effort.

Another ornament to finish before next Halloween!!

Thanks to my absolutely wonderful DH, we did celebrate Halloween.  Our DD came over and helped hand out the candy.  So the evening ended up successful!

Thanks again for all your wonderful support!!!!!

  6. Oh, Barb, what an ordeal you've been through! But, it sounds like you are on the upswing and will be back to normal after your PT. I'm always amazed at what PT can do for people's health--best of luck with yours.

Your piece for Caleb turned out so cute--I would love to see a group photo of all of the Halloween pieces you have stitched for him through the years :)

I look forward to seeing your Christmas finishes!

  7. I was just thinking about you over the weekend - wondering how you were getting on! So glad you are getting stronger and stronger! Keep positive, I find that helps very much. LOVE the Halloween piece!!! I look forward to more of your lovely photos. I still have not started my xstitch piece - I am so terribly scared to start it in case I screw it up. I need to build myself up! Keep well!

  8. Going back through some of your posts ~ it sure does sound like you have been through a very rough time. My mother recently had back surgery and though she was a little stubborn about the PT, it really helped. The piece you stitched for Caleb is cute! Metallic floss is no fun, but definitely worth it. Love the pumpkins!

  17. Oh Barb, so good to see your posting again. And so good that surgery is over and everything went well. An even if you have to deal with lots of physiotherapy for a while to completely heal you seem to have some of your energy back.

This PS piece is certainly great for kids, they can discover such a lot of typical Halloween things in it. An you found a nice frame for it.

  20. Metallic threads are the WORST! I know it was worth the toil though as your finish is wonderful and you chose a super frame.

  21. Gorgeous finish - I love Trick or Treat, I am impressed with you stitching with orange metallic thread - it is such a pain to stitch with. Glad that you had a successful Hallowe'en, too.
