A Little Bit of Everything

Hi there all you cloud friends! I hope the early days of summer are good for you , that is, if you live in the Northern Hemisphere.  For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, happy winter!  I would like to thank you for the many kind comments I got about the passing of my step-mom.  We (I'm the personal representative but I could not do it without the help of my DH) are now busy with the business of being a personal representative( previously executor).  There is a lot to do but I am happy to be able to do these final things for her.
Now onto the stitching world.  I have finished Nantucket Summer but still need to finish it.  Thanks to Priscilla, I am trying one of her ideas for framing.  I have started "Fancy Blackett-Tea for Two" by Pineberry Lane.  The minute I saw this one I knew I wanted to stitch it for my DD.  Fancy and a pumpkin head lady are having tea.  In my world, they are having coffee!  My DD and I often meet for coffee in the town between us.  This design is just perfect considering how  often we like to do that! No photo yet.  Of course, I'm still working away on "A Ghoultide Welcome" by Plum street.  I have the right side of the house finished.
Finally, I can't post without sharing my garden with you.

Here is the whole project! the colors look washed out in this photo.  They actually are quite bright and pretty.  I keep looking at Plum Street's Liberty's Welcome and wonder if I can do another huge house.  We will just have to see!

We have had lots of thunder storms, very rare for this area.  Anyway, one day the sun came out and we saw this lovely rainbow!

This little bird thinks she owns our back yard and the feeder!

It's the time for day lilies!

 and hydrangea!

Thanks for joining me today and have a wonderful week-end!

  1. Hi Barb: Love the Nantucket so pretty.
I am like you I need to question myself on starting another large design.
Is that a humming bird in the tree?
    A rainbow so pretty.
    Love your flower photos.

  2. Love the bouquet in your completed stitch - I am all about orange flowers this year. Your little Anna's hummingbird is very sweet - I am sure she enjoys all your flowers.

  3. Beautiful stitching!!:) Lovely hydrangeas!! I had hydrangeas this year for the first time and they were blue. It seems because the soil is acidic. I have read that if we add a lime, it turns pink. Does that thing really work? Also the plant has now dried because of summer heat, I have no idea if it will ever regrow. It has not tuned like a dry wood from inside as such. Any suggestion on that?

  4. Great progress on Ghoultide!!
Those little Hummies are very territorial, but I can see why with all the beautiful flowers you have.
It probably sticks to you yard for great food. They are too cute.

  6. Pink and red hydrangeas are my favorites, they are just so beautiful. But this year we won't have too many as some of them froze during some cold nights in spring. But my orange-red rose bush is compensating for that - I have never seen so many buds on it.
A wonderful project that you stitched. And your new one will be so great. I went to have a look at it and it's so sweet. I love Pineberry Lane's Fancy Blackett designs.

  10. That is a BIG house with a lot of windows. It looks great. The majority of day lilies around here are all the same yellow/gold.

  11. Hi Barb! LOVE the stitching! Ooooh that house! :) And the darling little witch! :) One of my favorites for sure! Can't wait to see the other one started. My day lilies are just about to open, one of my irises has opened and is just gorgeous. Deep, deep purple almost black - and the smell is gorgeous! Love the little bird - very cute! We have been having weird weather. Lots of rain, some storm activity but hot, windy, rainy, - so strange. Have a splendid week, hope you see more rainbows! :)

  19. I'm sure you are spending many hours settling your step-mother's estate, Barb. So glad your husband is a big help in this area. I would have no clue...

Love your stitching and your garden and am very envious of your hydrangea. Although our hydrangea bushes look healthy with lots of leaves, we don't have a single flower or even a bud this year...

    Enjoy your holiday weekend!
