Happy 2018!!

Hi there cloud friends.  I can't let the holidays pass without a post and a chance to wish you all a great 2018!  I hope all of you in the Eastern part of this country are staying warm.  We have had a fairly quiet but very nice Christmas and New Years.  We spent Christmas with our DD, and last night was a cozy evening at home.  I even got in 2 hours of stitching on my new project.  Which brings me to the photos.

I have chosen LHN's "Early Americans" for my new project.  I will be doing it on a large piece of linen with all the 9 squares together.  The middle square should be fun to design.  I have 2 Patriots in my direct line. Yes, I am a member of the DAR, not very active as I just hate to go to meetings! However, at Vonna's suggestion, I will be honoring them in the middle square.  I want this project finished by Memorial Day as that is when I put up my patriotic designs.  I  am excited and happy to be doing this design.

I stitched this Santa during December.  He was lots of fun.  I had seen him on Marly's blog and when Prairie Schooler reproduced the design, I bought it right away. His colors are much prettier.  He looks a bit faded in the photo.  By next December, he will be made into a pretty pillow.( I hope!)  He is a fairly big guy even on 32 count. Too big for a pin keep.

I have to share the beautiful felted ornaments that my DD made for us.  This is so special.  Can you see all the tiny beads that she put on the top?

Next year these will have very special places on the tree.

Laurie is a member of Blodel Reserve a beautiful place on Bainbridge Island.  We took a walk there on the day before Christmas Eve.  One reason I love the NW is you can see things blooming even in cold December.

The other morning I was walking upstairs and noticed  the reflection on one of the windows.  I think it is the perfect way to end the post.  I hope good health, love and happiness are with you all this year.  And let's hope for more peace in our world. Thanks for joining me today.

  19. What a lovely post, Barb! I certainly look forward to seeing your Early Americans piece grow this year. That will be interesting to see what you come up with for the middle block. My cousins are members of the DAR and are very active in it up in New York.

And that PS Santa--oh, how I love him! He is a biggie and one I haven't stitched yet, but maybe this year?

I always love seeing what your daughter creates for you and that sweet nativity is just precious with the little beads. It must be so nice to have a daughter to share creative moments with :)

Wishing you and your family every happiness in 2018--can hardly believe 2017 is over. What a blur!
