All About Cross Stitch

Thank you so much to all of you who went on our trip across the mountains with us!  Chris, at the Tot Hill Farm Blog asked how I was doing on Hannah's birth sampler so I decided it was about time I did a cross stitch blog post.

J.M. Gardner by With My Needle, is all finished.  I loved doing this sampler.  The colors are just wonderful. Of course, I love red!  They are happy colors that make me smile. (Not so much in this photo).

The over one for the information helped me to get ready for the over one on Hannah's sampler.

Another great thing is, I can use this wonderful frame from Valley House Primitives.  I use this for  a patriotic sampler in June-July and then can move JM right into it for the rest of the year,

The gold tones in the frame are perfect with JM.

Here is Dawson's Sampler by Cherished Stitches.  In the future it will be Hannah's sampler. As you can see, there is very little color except the green.  That is because we will be going to visit in July.  I want to see her room before I put the color in the sampler. The border is full of pretty honeysuckle flowers.  There will be apples on the tree.  All of her info goes in the area inside the wreath of vines. I need to finish the angels at the top .  Then I will stop working on this until we visit.

I love the way these little animals look.  Perfect for a little girl's room without being too babyish.  When I do a birth sampler, I like it to have staying power.  That is, it can be used  in her room as Hannah is growing. My DIL picked out his lovely sampler for her daughter's room.
It is almost the week-end so I hope yours is great.  We work at the lighthouse on Sat. and Poulsbo has a fun summer solstice celebration .  All that should be fun!

Wow, J.M. Gardner looks absolutely great. I also love all sorts of red colours so all those samplers with lots of red in them are my favourites.
