Tomorrow is October1!!

My favorite month is about to start.  It will go by too fast, I'm sure.  I finally got my self together and decorated for Halloween at least in the entrance.  I will be finishing up tomorrow.  That includes getting out the Halloween dishes!! I have my last 2 finishes hanging up.  That might be record time for me.  I hope you enjoy seeing the beginning of a month of fun at my home!

I have often mentioned that I just love this antique desk!! It is the focal point of the entrance to our home.

The witch looks great in my frame that we picked up in a little antique shop just a few weeks ago.

Here's "Away We Ride. "  Above that is" Witchy" It is by the Primitive Needle.  I really miss that talented designer. That is framed in an old frame that we have had for along time.

My tree and the wonderful "Woolpets" owls.  The bat and the ghost and even the witch on top are also "Woolpets." Thanks to my talented daughter, Laurie, I have these adorable ornaments and birds!

Another Woolpet" design , the crow! Plus a white ,Tom Jones of Fairhope Alabama, pumpkin. In another post, I'll show my entire collection of these pumpkins.

I love that little frame that shows my kids when they were small, all dressed up for Halloween!

Thanks so much for joining me today.  Have a glorious October!!!

  1. Looks spooky lovely! In Canada we have Thanksgiving before Halloween so my decorations will come later.

  2. Barb - Love your new blog header. The woolpets are just too dear. What wonderful and tasteful decorations you have. All the displays are fabulous - you show great restraint and an eye for design (I tend to go overboard - too cluttered). I look forward to seeing your pumpkin collection.

  3. Beautiful deco! Like the boxes! In Germany Halloween isn't that popular as in the States.

  4. I love your Halloween decorating. It looks fantastic.

Halloween is not a big thing in New Zealand. Some years we get trick or treaters, and others (like last year) nobody turned up. I love it when the smaller kids come around, although we did have a fun group of teenagers one year who were thrilled we actually gave them treats!

Would you be interested in the Midnight Ride chart by Blackbird Designs for your Halloween stitching collection? If you would like it, I would love to send it to you.

  5. Your antique desk is really an eye-catcher and it's wonderful to see your seasonal decoration all around it. Away We Ride is such a great piece and is looking great hanging on that wall.
Your daughter is a real artist creating all these wool pets. The witch in your header is so funny with the broom and her two teeth.

  21. I always love seeing your Halloween decorating post, Barb! That witch looks fabulous in your new frame :) And every time I see those stacked boxes I want them!! I just placed an order for a similar stack on Amazon. They're cute, but not as cute as yours!! And Laurie's wool pets are the cutest--I was just looking at her books at the library the other day wishing I was talented enough to make one :)

    Enjoy your favorite month!
